Research

STELA research projects address a variety of topics related to milk and dairy products and are strongly related to issues and concerns of the dairy community.

For example, three Industrial Research Chairs are currently held by STELA researchers. These are:

• The NSERC-Novalait Industrial Research Chair on Process Efficiency in Dairy Technology held by prof. Yves Pouliot;
• The NSERC Industrial Research Chair on Use of Electromembrane Processes To Improve the Ecoefficiency of Biofood Production Lines, held by prof. Laurent Bazinet, with the support of Amer-Sil, CRIBIQ, Eurodia, Fruit d’Or, Ocean Nutrasciences and Parmalat;
• The NSERC Industrial Research Chair in metabolic activity and the functionality of bioprotective lactic cultures (METABIOLAC), held by Ismaïl Fliss, with the support of Biena, Cascades, CRIBIQ, Fumoir Grizzly, La Coopérative fédérée, Novalait, Olymel and Sani Marc.
